Type Paintings
A self-initiated project on February 2004
The “Type Painting” is a technique inspired both by Photo Collages and ASCII art, the difference is that the graphics was not developed with a software but composed by hand with great patience and a old Olivetti Typewriter: each imagine is unique.
I used the peculiarity of the typewriter, first analyzing how it printed each letter, then using them as a grayscale pixel, sometimes modulating the pression over the buttons.
